As a local photographer and small business owner here on Tybee, I absolutely love getting to support new gems that pop up around the island; and I just have to share my latest obsession: Sand Cat Coffee.
I’ve already been multiple times (yes, I’m officially hooked), and I’ve been slowly making my way through the entire menu so I can confidently say: it’s worth the hype.
This charming little spot is much more than a coffee shop. They serve smooth, delicious espresso, offer fresh pastries from the incredible Auspicious Baking Co., and have a selection of high-quality ice cream with fun, creative names like “Exhausted Parent” and “Me Want Cookie.” (If that doesn’t speak directly to your soul, are you even on vacation?)
Even my boyfriend couldn’t resist the charm—after just one visit, he said,“This is my new favorite coffee spot on Tybee.”(And trust me, he doesn’t say that lightly.)
Prices are surprisingly affordable for the island, and the vibe? Cozy, playful, and thoughtful. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great stop whether you're catching some shade or soaking up the sunny rays.
One thing I love about Sand Cat is their creativity beyond the coffee. The same company also designs and sells custom DnD maps, quirky purses, and other unique goods through their website. It’s clear that this place is built by people who truly care about what they’re creating, and it shows in every detail.
💛 A quick note: this is a new local business, so please be kind to the staff and give them grace as they find their rhythm.
Whether you’re a tourist wandering through or a local looking for your next go-to spot, Sand Cat Coffee is 100% worth checking out. Support local, sip slow, and enjoy the creativity in every cup.
Until next time,
Taylor
